Readers of Ixobelle might have a bit of a sense of dajavu with this. Like Ixo, WFB has recently had a certain individual that although not compeltly anonymous, does leave a rather ambigious calling card of ‘Cleetus’.
1. cleetus
Another word for red neck or hick. Derived from the popular TV series The Simpsons, a cleetus or cleet is a country bumpkin who is below average intelligence. Can be recognised wearing armless t-shirts and possibly sporting a mullet.
Put your top back on you look like a right cleet.
Look at that cleetus’ van, like something straight out of Dukes of Hazzard.

The man with the befitting name started with snide remark towards one of my guest posters (link), which is always a quick way to piss me off, then he continued into his next comment here, where he basically said ‘you suck, go home’.
Rather than having this little banter sprawl across the site, I figured I would take a few minutes to give him a proper reply, as well as a place for him to bitch to himself, rather than sprawling his responces all over the place. This will be structured as a point-by-point, so you will probably want to go and read that comment so you know what I’m talking about…
Firstly - thanks kim for having my back, and happy b’day for next week. ^.^
As for Cleetus. The man with no website, no email, whom refers to himself as a redneck (hey, you picked the alias, not me)
1. I’m not overly keen on the background my self.. It’s almost as if I should run a competition where people could win prizes if they sent me a new one..
Oh wait.. snap!
2a. That’s what she said (sorry, it had to be said)
2b. I tend to agree on you that the font it too small, but I am going to wait until the end of the competition before I make any changes.
3. You’ve obviously never heard of a pun, but that’s more your loss than anything. As I have mentioned, I am 20 years old, run my own business, and find the rest of my life all too serious - so I like to have a joke.
If you don’t like the jokes, don’t read them. If you have better jokes, send them in. There is some financial incentives for writting for WFB, it won’t make you rich, but it’s better than a kick in the pants (the details are currnetly known only to my contributors - it’s not a mountain of cash, but WFB runs at a loss already, so cut me some slack).
On this note, further details on exactly what kind of incentives our regular contributors can expect will be made public once I’ve ironed out some of the bugs in the system, and reworked things a little better (to my awesome contrib team - cool changes be afoot!). This will probably be after the end of the competition.
4. *quickly flicks back to the comment to remember what point 4 and 5 were about* Oh yes.. I think the fact that I’m running a competition asking for peoples suggestions on how to resolve this would be a sure fire way of going ‘hey, maybe instead of being a douche saying things like “water is wet, fire burns, and I can state the $#@&ing obvious’, you should actually try doing something about it - there is even prizes and stuff. Do you need an invitation?
5. I think linking this back to to point 3 would pretty much suffice. We have a submit page for a reason…
Some of your points (although stating the already answers, the obvious, and the fact that you have no sense of humor), do have some validity, the problem that I have is the fact that.. well, you’re a bit of a dickwad [<3 P.A.]. Telling me to give up and go away just says that your a wanker, and wording everything like an arrogent twat.. well.. it makes you look like an arrogent twat of a waker, really now, doesn’t it.
I have no problems accepting suggestions from people (I ask for them, I want them - even if the hurts), but I do have a problem with is people harping on about something I have already said is an issue, and being a right-royal arse about it. There is a difference between giving a suggestion [A], and being one of the already afformentioned words used to describe your manerism [B]. A suggestion for you is to try work on A, while being less of [B].

However, I would point out that to run a competition, you must have contestants.
The sad thing is he probably thinks his views are insightful, but because they lack any basic ideas to back them up, it just makes him another sheep calling for change but shirking the responsibility on to somebody else.
You know feeding a forum/post troll is bad form, but them again poking a stick and mocking it is just too hard to pass up!
What do you gain honestly for ‘mocking’ this blog? You have not contributed a single thing, ‘just a bitch bitch at a blog I don’t own nor have to read’ fest. At least if your comments were constructive or actually funny (I guess I’m used to higher quality forum troll post fodder, your kinda bleh for a post troll) I could see your use.
It seems like for someone who hates this blog so much, you sure hang around alot. Sounds like a stalker…a sad boring net stalker. If that was your goal then grats? In fact stalk more, it makes the sweet sweet sound of your net rage all the more sweeter. At least your aimless whining has put the EC contest to the fore front. So double grats for the free publicity

ok…. first off:
How many cleetus’s we got here? Are they multiplying or something?
You are right in saying that a competition needs to have contestents (thus as DS pointed out, this post did have additional benifits from the ‘go enter something epic in the competition’ perspective).
Although we’ve had a few people sponsor the competition, we’re kinda lacking in the ‘people to actually give prizes to’ department.
On that note - all you creative thinkers out there. C’mon.. get to it! You want that awesome carrot on a stick keyring or not? :p
