Hi everyone,

Recently, WoW Fail Blog got a review. A very detailed review. A very honest review. A very painful review *whimper*. So, rather than sitting in a corner and licking our stitches, we’re doing something about it, and we want you to help! We’re running an EntreCard Giveaway Competition – and it’s open to anyone. There will be 2 categories: Designers & Fans.

Category 1 - Designers:

WoW Fail Blog needs a little bit of work – in particular, we need a new banner/logo. First, I recomend you have a quick glance at the review. Now, the new logo doesn’t necessarily have to be a wacky crayon drawing or whatever as was suggested there, but we would like it to be funny. Our current logo & banner gets the point across, but it kinda lacks that ‘zing’.

Rules:

1. This is to be replacing the current ‘WoW Fail Blog’ banner at the top of the page, as well as a few other things (see legend below). We want everything to kinda ‘flow’, so if you design a header that is little left-wing, you may need to also pick a background that fits.
2. Must be properly visible on 1024×768, but also be supportive of high resolutions (ie. must be able to ‘loop’ like the current background/header, or fade to black in an attractive manner)
3. Must be your own work. If it contains additional elements that are not your own work, you must have permission to use them (and permission to give us permission :p)
4. We need several things fixed. The more you fix, the more you can win!

Just what needs doing?

So much that we’ve made a pretty little picture: Have a look. It’s even got pretty little numbers and everything ^.^

1. This is the logo. As mentioned, it kinda lacks the ‘zing’.
2. This is the banner. If your awesome logo idea doesn’t work with it, change it
3. This Evil 728×90 Ad is going to be nuked. We want to ditch this and go with a smaller 468×60 ad that will be parallel to the logo, thus moving the whole page up some. Try and fit something that size into your ideas if possible.
4. The background. Don’t like it? We’re open to suggestions
5. Evil Internet-Explorer Gap Post of Death. If you have a magic answer to solve this issue, I will <3 u long time.
6. Here is where I was thinking an awesome ‘submit your funny stuff to WoWFail Blog’ picture could go Max width: 125px. Max Height? eh.. whatever works for you.

Prizes:

Winners will be the people’s who’s ideas we use. Obviously, we’re going to try and use the best contributions, but we need an end result that works together so keep that in mind.

Prize is 1000EC PER ITEM that your submission fixes PLUS a bonus 1000ECPer 3 Primary Items (ones in that list) you fix. Additionally, the contestent whom successfully solves the most of our web designing woes will get a permanent ‘dofollow’ link in the footer mentioning your awesome contributions to the design. EDIT: If EC Credit’s aren’t your thing, and would rather just do the lot for a slightly greener currency, send us a message

Example: PersonA sends in a new logo, banner & background. We use the logo and banner, but didn’t think tiled pictures of PedoBear were appropriate - PersonA wins 2000EC. PersonB sent in a killer background that we use – 1000EC Prize. PersonC only sends in a picture of his cat eating carpet – we lol (oh, and he doesn’t win anything).

Are you so awesome you’ve fixed something that isn’t even listed here?

If you have a spark of creative genius and send in something that betters the site in some other way (ie. not on that list), it’s worth another 1000EC for each one we implement as well! [note: It's got to be a real isue to which you offered a real solution. Just telling me I had a spelling mistake won't cut it. I can't spell for chips, so I'd need to give away more money than the US Government if I did that. lol].

Bonus Prizes:
